Janice G .
Columbia University
University of Florida

Janice graduated from Columbia University with an MFA degree in poetry and literature. As an undergraduate, she attended the University of Florida, where she majored in English and graduated summa cum laude. While there, she maintained a 3.96 GPA, with a 4.0 in English, her major course of study.

Janice has years of teaching and tutoring experience, including teaching a Columbia Artists/Teachers undergraduate class at Columbia and tutoring students of varying ages in essay writing, creative writing, SAT, SSAT, TOEFL and college essays. She has also worked at The New Yorker magazine and published poetry in several wide-circulation North American literary magazines.


Natalie Y .
University of Toronto
Harvard University

Natalie graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 2009 in Anthropology and Linguistics, and is now studying Engineering Science at the University of Toronto. While at Harvard, she wrote her senior thesis on Representations of Pottery in Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs. She also won numerous Harvard fellowships to conduct research in the Middle East and Europe, including the Presidentís Discretionary Fund for the Middle East, the Harvard College Research Program, the Deanís Summer Research Awards, and the Goelet Fund for Anthropology.

Natalie scored 1510 out of 1600 on the SAT, and on the GRE earned 740 on Verbal (99th percentile) and a perfect 800 on Math. She has over 6 years of private tutoring experience with students from the elementary to the university level as well as adults. She also has one yearís experience teaching English in the French Public School System. Natalie is always keen to pass on her love of learning to students, and works hard to help them meet their academic goals.

Natalie is fluent in English, French and conversational Ukrainian, and has a reading knowledge of German, Latin, Ancient Greek and Ancient Egyptian.



Laurel P .
University of Toronto

Laurel graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelors of Arts in Literary Studies and an Artist Diploma in Vocal Performance. With a GPA of 3.98, she was the recipient of the Prince of Wales Gold Medal from Victoria College for highest academic standing in any Bachelors of Arts degree program. She was a Dean’s List scholar and received numerous academic awards, including the Isabel Bader Scholarship, University of Toronto Scholar Award, Milton A. Buchanan Scholarship in Italian Studies, and E.G. Clark Scholarship in Biblical Hebrew.

Laurel is a gifted teacher who specializes in helping students with standardized tests and essays. She has excelled in standardized tests, scoring 99th percentile on the SAT and a perfect ACT score of 36. She has taught classes of students of all ages and enjoys helping students achieve and surpass their academic goals. She is proficient in Italian, French and Hebrew, and is in training to be an opera singer.
