Redesigned New SAT Book (2016)

The SATs in 2016


The College Board has made significant content, format and scoring changes to the SATs in 2016. For students interested in writing the SAT test administered starting in the Spring of 2016, they should prepare for the new test. This applies to students planning to graduate after 2017.

Content

  • More relevant vocabulary words tested instead of obscure terms.

  • Test takers will read a passage before analyzing it in the form of an essay.

  • The math portion will focus on:
    • Linear equations
    • Complex equations or functions
    • Ratios, percentages and proportional reasoning

  • At least one reading passage will be from one of the US founding documents or text
    from the "Great Global Conversation."
