Applying to Private Schools Seminar

Cost: Free

Anyone interested in attending a Private School in Canada should attend this seminar. We will provide a complete overview of private schools in Toronto and Vancouver (depending on location), and provide parents with a roadmap on how to select a school that is right for their child.

Parents are often overwhelmed with the myriad of choices available to them for their child's education. We help parents navigate the process, including covering all aspects of the admissions process from school selection to the application. In this seminar, we will also cover what it takes to get into some of the best schools in Canada.

The "Applying to Private Schools" Seminar will cover the following topics:

  • Different types of Private Schools
  • How to choose a private school
  • IB vs AP Programs
  • Break-down of the application
  • SSAT Entrance Test
  • UTS Entrance
  • Interview and Personal Statement
  • Financial aid
  • Athletics

SSAT Workshop

Cost: Free

The workshop provides an introduction to the SSAT, general tips and strategies, and will cover all 4 parts of SSATs (verbal, reading, math and the essay). The instructor will also provide a study roadmap for students in how to further study for the SSATs on their own.

Study Skills and Time Management Workshop

Cost: Free

How do successful students maintain high marks? What is the secret to improved test scores? Why do some students do well in school with seeming little effort? Anyone interested in improving test scores and earning high marks should attend this seminar.

Students who perform well in school and on standardized tests use effective study and time management strategies. This workshop will help students and their parents develop an individualized study and time management plan that works.

Essay Writing Workshop

Cost: Free

The new SSAT asks younger students to write a short story; older students are expected to write an argumentative essay. Teachers and admissions officers use these essays to learn more about potential and current students, to determine students’ fluency in English, and to evaluate critical and creative thinking. This workshop will introduce parents and students to both creative and argumentative essays and will offer strategies to help students become better writers.
